Friends of the Library Week
On a recent visit to the West Hurley Library’s children’s room I observed children playing with puppets; using an iPad and a children’s computer loaded with educational games; creating pictures for their parents and borrowing a variety of children’s books and DVDs. Unknown to these children, most of these materials have been donated to the library by the Friends of the Library Group. This mostly unsung group works quietly to raise the funds which provide many of the extras that makes going to the West Hurley Public Library a special place for both children and adults.
The West Hurley Library Board of Trustees wants to take this opportunity, on National Friends of the Library Week, October 19-25, to thank our Friends Group for all of their hard work, enthusiasm, and support. If you are interested in joining the Friends Group, call the library at 845-679-6405 for more information.
