Summer Reading Program

Preregistration for events is required. You can use the calendar on the library’s website or call the library at 679-6405 to sign up. Please put your name on a waiting list, because we will consider moving the program outside if the weather allows. Those on the waiting list will be informed of any venue changes.

Yoga Story Hour - Alternate Wednesdays at 10:15am - Begins July 9th - Introduce your active preschooler to the benefits of yoga.

Mother Goose Story Time - Fridays at 11:15am - Begins July 11th - Babies and toddlers participate in a program that combines music, movement, visual literacy and language development to help children get ready to read.

Preschool Story Hour - Alternate Wednesdays at 10:15am - Begins July 16th - Children between the ages of three to five can participate in stories, crafts, and snacks.

Craft a Bug - Wednesday, July 9th at 6:00pm - Children can participate in crafts featuring bugs!!! Program will be customized to the ages of the children who sign up.

Usborne Book Fair - Monday, July 14th - Friday, July 18th - Those interested can preview a selection of the books in the library, browse through a catalog, or donate an item from the library’s wish list.

Amazing Animals - Wednesday, July 16th at 6:00pm - Meet and learn about a variety of interesting reptiles and small mammals (for example: hedgehog, chinchilla, snake, lizard, baby alligator, and more).

Wii Program - Saturday, July 19th at 1pm - Have fun learning how to use the games offered at the library with our new Wii System.

Feathered Friends - Wednesday, July 23th at 3:00pm - Feathers, wings and avian things, this program will cover the topics of bird anatomy, flight, migration, and reproduction. Program includes an exploration of nests, eggs, feathers and birds. This includes live animals.

“How Sweet It Is” - Wednesday, July 30th at 6:00pm - Learn the history of honey and how this sweet stuff has saved the lives of millions of people. We’ll taste test different varieties of honey and see where in the world honey comes from.
