Special District Vote
The West Hurley Public Library will hold a Board of Trustees elections on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 4-8pm in the library. Three board positions are available.
Candidates are nominated by petition. Petitions are available at the library, for download, or will be mailed by request. Petitions must be returned to the library – signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district – no later than 5 pm, on August 10, 2020. Please call 679-6405 for further information.
The West Hurley Public Library proposes a 0% increase for the 2021 budget. 2021 Budget As a result, a budget proposition will not be on the ballot. The proposed budget of $228,404 is a reduction from last year’s budget of $229,804. The budget includes no salary increases. It covers technology increases to accommodate wireless printing, telecommunication advances, and additional eBooks for patrons.
There are three three-year positions available on the board. The candidates running for election are Robert Hoffman, Howard Keene, and Ross Lonstein.
Absentee ballots applications are available at the library, for download, or will be mailed by request. To get your ballot back to us by September 14 to be counted, we need to receive your mailed absentee ballot application by August 28. If you decide that you would like to request an absentee ballot due to concerns about the virus, you should fill out Section 3 on the application.
