Summer Reading Program Challenge
For every twenty minutes that you read (with someone else or by yourself) put a star on your reading record
- 25 stickers = Stewart’s Ice Cream Sundae
- 50 stickers = NCG Theater Movie Ticket
July Programs
Thursday, July 11th at 6pm – Constellation Jars Craft
Participants will use a battery operated tea light and a jar to make a constellation projector. We will be using nails to make holes in paper – suitable for kids 7 and up. Sign Up
Thursday, July 12th (call for times) – Starlab Planetarium — West Hurley Firehouse
The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum’s StarLab is an inflatable planetarium. Children will learn how to find some of the most recognizable constellations throughout the seasons, and learn stories of Greek mythology and Native American folklore. This is a wonderful presentation and enhancement for early STEM learning. Call To Sign Up
Thursday, July 18th at 6pm – Rocket Craft
Use a variety of materials to make different sized rockets Suitable for kids 5 and up. Sign Up
Thursday, July 25th at 6pm – Galaxy Jars and Moon Sand Craft
Use household materials to make these two fun projects. Moon sand is like sand that tends to stick together. Galaxy jars are like nighttime snow globes. Suitable for ages 5 and up. Sign Up
Saturday, July 27th at 3pm—Andrew Simmons Wildlife Event — West Hurley Firehouse
During the program creatures are taken out one at a time. Andres discusses their adaptations for survival, roll in the wild, and wildlife management programs involving each species. Sign Up
