What is Wi-Fi Internet access?

  • Wi-Fi is high speed wireless Internet access available throughout the library.
  • The wireless access is provided as a free public service, on an “as is” basis with no guarantees and no warranties.
  • The WHPL Wireless Internet Use Policy (available at the front desk) applies to any use of the wireless access service.
  • The Library assumes no responsibility for the safety of equipment; users must keep their equipment with them at all times
  • Library staff does not provide technical assistance and assumes no responsibility for laptop configurations, security, or changes to data files resulting from connection to the Library’s wireless access.
  • Information passing through the Library’s wireless access is not secured and could be monitored, captured, or altered by others. It is the sole responsibility of the user to protect their information from risks associated with using the Internet, including any damage, loss, or theft that may occur as a result of using the Library’s wireless access.
  • While using this wireless access, the user is subject to and agrees to abide by all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Printing is available via the wireless connection.

How do I connect?

  • You must have a computer or other device equipped with an 802.11b-compatible wireless card. Standards: A,B,G,N
  • Using your computer’s network utilities, look for the wireless network named “West Hurley Public Library”.
  • The “West Hurley Public Library” wireless network does not require a password to connect, but you must agree to the user policy befor you logon.
