The Town of Hurley, Hurley Library, and West Hurley Library are co-sponsoring two trips in the spring.
Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Bus Trip – Sunday, May 3rd
Tenement Museum Bus Trip – Sunday, June 7th

On March 16, Town of Hurley residents may choose either the Tenement Museum or the Statue of Liberty trip and be put on the wait list for the other trip. Those who live outside the town can sign up on a wait list as well.
On March 30, this wait list will open up for Hurley residents who wish to sign up for both bus trips.
On April 6, the wait list for everyone else will open up.
Tickets cost $20 each for everyone. Payment required by cash or check in order to register. No refunds.

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Bus Trip
Your ticket includes the bus trip, access to both islands, including entry to both the Statue of Liberty Museum and the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. You will receive a General Admission ticket which does not include access inside the statue or pedestal. The ferry will leave Liberty State Park, New Jersey. All visitors must pass through airport-style security before boarding ferries. The bus will depart Kingston Plaza at 8am and depart Liberty State Park at 4pm. Link to Handout

Tenement Bus Trip
Located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, 97 Orchard Street was once just another run-down 19th-century tenement. Today that building forms the core of the museum, with seven apartments (along with a German beer saloon) restored to reflect the various Jewish, Italian, Irish and other multicultural working-class families who lived here. Guided tours bring their stories to life and shed light on immigration to the United States at a time when the Lower East Side was the epicenter of the City’s melting pot.

Everyone will be assigned to a tour of an immigrant experience. You will be given your tour information on the bus. While you wait for your tour, you can use your discount in the gift shop, view a documentary, or get a cup of coffee locally. The bus will depart Kingston Plaza at 8am and depart the museum at 4pm. One tour is included with your bus ticket. There will be free time to explore the area. Options for those with mobility challenges will only be offered for the museum. Link to Handout
